Now see what happen when you support Donald Trump?! Nah, we kid, but it certainly is a coincidence that following his photo op with the pres Lil Wayne is now facing federal charges for possessing a firearm and ammo.
The charges are quite serious — The U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of Florida has hit the rapper with 1 count of possession of a firearm and ammunition by a convicted felon. If convicted, Wayne could be behind bars for 10 years.
The charges stem from an incident in December 2019 where federal agents searched Wayne’s plane at Miami-Opa Locka Executive Airport. Guns and drugs were reportedly found on the plane, but initially Weezy was in the clear. However, now it appears the feds believe Wayne was wrongfully in possession of the weapon and ammunition.
According to a statement from Wayne’s attorney, provided to TMZ, “Carter was charged for possessing a gold-plated handgun in his luggage back in December. ‘The charge is that because he was convicted of a felony in the past, he is prohibited from possessing a firearm.”
If you’re wondering why this sounds like déjà vu, it’s because it is. Back in 2009, Tunechi was convicted of a felony gun charge in NY. Hopefully, for his sake, things turn out a bit different this time around.
Lil Wayne is scheduled to face the charges in court next month. In the meantime, Twitter is having a field day with this news…
Turns out that Karma had Lil Wayne's number all along. The Death Clown Trump doesn't need him now since he lost the election. https://t.co/1X9b2bxzzT
