Taliban ‘Military Commission Deputy’ Killed In AAF Airstrikes
The Ministry of Defense (MoD) says ANA forces have killed the deputy head of the Taliban military commission for Helmand province.
Mullah Amanullah, deputy of the Taliban’s military commission for Helmand Province was killed besides eight of his fighters, yesterday in an airstrike carried by the Afghan Air Force in Nawa district.
A large amount of their weapons and ammunitions were also destroyed.
On the other hand, MOD reports 14 Taliban were killed and 9 others were wounded after they attacked ANDSF positions in Dahrawod district of Uruzgan Province, last night. As a result of the airstrikes, three of the Taliban strongholds in the region were also destroyed.
The Taliban have not yet commented on the incident.
Southern province of Helmand last month witnessed attacks by Taliban militants on large scale and in various parts of the area.
Taliban attacks on Helmand province provoked many reactions and condemnations and displaced nearly 40,000 people.
