WINTER PARK, Fla. (AP) _ Ruth's Hospitality Group Inc. (RUTH) on Friday reported a third-quarter loss of $5.3 million, after reporting a profit in the same period a year earlier.
On a per-share basis, the Winter Park, Florida-based company said it had a loss of 15 cents. Losses, adjusted for asset impairment costs and non-recurring costs, came to 4 cents per share.
The results surpassed Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of four analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for a loss of 19 cents per share.
The restaurant chain posted revenue of $63.4 million in the period, also exceeding Street forecasts. Four analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $54.2 million.
Ruth's Hospitality shares have decreased 47% since the beginning of the year. The stock has declined 45% in the last 12 months.
