Huge Blast Rip through Seminary in Peshawar, Killing 7
PESHAWAR, Pakistan – A huge blast ripped through an Islamic seminary in northwest city of Peshawar, Pakistan Tuesday morning, according to sources, killing at least seven and wondering 70 further people.
Children are among the victims, said local police and hospital officials to reporters.
While a cleric was delivering lecture on Islamic values, the explosion occurred at the main hall of the Jamia Zubairia madrassa, said a local police Waqar Azim.
According to Azim, initial investigations suggest the bomb went off minutes after someone left a bag at the madrassa, killing at least seven and wounding scores.
The victims are landed in nearby hospital for special care, with several in critical condition.
Peshawar is the provincial capital of Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, bordering Afghanistan.
