Duncan Robinson says the Lakers yelled ‘Jimmy Neutron’ at him during the NBA Finals

Fun fact: Jimmy Neutron’s full name is James Isaac Neutron.
In 2001, Nickelodeon Movies, O Entertainment and DNA Productions produced an animated film titled “Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius.” The film follows a 10-year-old whiz kid, his robot dog and his peers as they travel across the galaxy to try and save their parents from being a sacrificial meals to the chicken goddess of an alien race called the Yolkians. Don’t worry: the parents make it out okay. It was a movie made for children, after all.
The film was followed by three seasons of an animated series called “The Adventures of Jimmy Neutron, Boy Genius.” The series never won the Kids’ Choice Award for Favorite Cartoon, as it lost to “Spongebob SquarePants” in back-to-back years, but the series did win an Annie Award in 2004 for Outstanding Achievement in an Animated Television Production Produced for Children and Outstanding Voice Acting in an Animated Television Production.
Now, you may be asking yourself: “why am I reading about Jimmy Neutron on a site I go to for Lakers coverage?” You also may be asking yourself “why isn’t there more Jimmy Neutron coverage on this site?”
Well, while I can’t answer the latter question, I can answer the former.
Earlier this week, Miami Heat guard Duncan Robinson went on Fox Sports’ “Titus and Tate” podcast and revealed that the Lakers bench yelled “Jimmy Neutron” at him during the NBA Finals. That’s objectively hilarious. What’s even funnier is that Robinson has also been told he looks like Neutron’s friend from the show, Sheen Estevez.

Robinson doesn’t mind it, even if he doesn’t totally understand it:
“I can’t be both. Like, that doesn’t even make sense. How can I be two characters from the same show. During the Finals, the Lakers’ bench was yelling ‘Jimmy Neutron’ at me, so I don’t understand how I can be both Sheen and Jimmy Neutron.”
For what it’s worth, I personally think Robinson looks more like Sheen, if for no other reason than he doesn’t have hair that looks like a soft serve ice cream. Tyler Herro honestly looks more like Jimmy Neutron than Robinson.
If Robinson also shares a love for super heroes — specifically Ultra Lord — then the Sheen comparison is spot on. Then again, who doesn’t love Ultra Lord?
