British Airways flight makes emergency landing at Heathrow after ‘passengers smell burning and crew feel unwell’
A BA flight made an emergency landing at Heathrow Airport today with one passengers reporting a burning smell and cabin crew staff feeling unwell.
BA flight 2596 from Heathrow to Verona, Italy returned to London this morning following the midair incident.

Dramatic footage taken by a passenger showed emergency services racing towards the jet after it landed around 7am.
One passenger was heard saying: “This is the most 2020 thing that’s ever happened to me.”
The airline said a “technical issue” sparked the emergency.
A BA spokesman said: “The safety of our customers and crew is always our priority and the flight returned to Heathrow as a precaution due to a minor technical issue.
“We’ve apologised to our customers and have organised a replacement aircraft so that we can get them on their way again as quickly as possible.”
