Bellator 247: Kielholtz vs. Jackson fight card preview

Check out the lineup for tonight’s Bellator 247 main card on CBS Sports Network, including Denise Kielholtz vs. Kate Jackson in the main event.

Bellator 247 kicks off today from Milan, Italy at 4:00pm ET where the promotion will be making its CBS Sports Network debut. The card suffered a hard blow this week when main event action fighter, Paul Daley, was hospitalized following weight cutting complications — and his welterweight headliner with the ever-scrappy Derek Anderson was cancelled.

The show must go on, and now Bellator’s women’s flyweight division will get some shine when promotional kickboxing champ, Denise Kielholtz, collides with former title challenger, Kate Jackson in the new main event. Kielholtz has captured gold as a kickboxer, and is now 5-2 in MMA, and looks as though she is making a run to the title. Before any of that, though, she must first prove herself against someone who was just there. The well rounded Jackson is looking to get back into the win column after falling short to Bellator’s 125-pound queen, Ilima-Lei Macfarlane, this past December. Jackson and Kielholtz seem to be the perfect matchup for one another in regards to the division’s most recent title challenger being an excellent test for someone marching towards the belt.

In the co-main event slot, Italy’s own Norbert Novenyi Jr. puts his 4-0 undefeated record on the line against France’s 7-5 Laid Zerhouni. Before that, the featherweight division will see 7-2 Italian native Simone D’Anna collide with SBG Ireland’s Brian Moore. Also on the main card, undefeated Scottish fighter, Chris Duncan, will meet the 6-3 Iamik Furtado at a catchweight of 160-pounds.

Main card:

Flyweight: Denise Kielholtz vs. Kate Jackson
