Central Election Commission of Russian Federation held 269th meeting

On 16 September 2020, a regular meeting of the Central Election Commission of the Russian Federation was held.

Deputy Chairperson of the CEC of Russia Nikolay Bulaev spoke about the results of the by-election of deputies of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation of the seventh convocation in single-seat constituencies on 13 September 2020.

"By-elections were held in four single-seat constituencies in the Republic of Tatarstan, Kursk, Penza and Yaroslavl regions. In total, 31 candidates participated in this campaign, 6 people were refused registration or lost their candidate status," said Nikolay Bulaev. "The campaign was absolutely competitive, but at the same time it was held in an atmosphere of mutual respect."

The Deputy Chairperson of the Central Election Commission of the Russian Federation recalled that in the Kursk and Yaroslavl regions, by-elections to the State Duma were held not only in the traditional form, but also using remote electronic voting. No comments were received on the voting results.

Based on the protocols and decisions of the relevant district election commissions on the results of the elections, the CEC of Russia established that the following candidates were elected to the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation of the seventh convocation in single-seat constituencies:

Oleg Morozov (Republic of Tatarstan – Nizhnekamsk single-seat constituency No.28),

Alexey Zolotarev (Kursk region – Seimas single-seat constituency No.110),

Alexander Samokutyaev (Penza region – Lermontov single-seat constituency No.147),

Andrey Kovalenko (Yaroslavl region – Yaroslavl single-seat constituency No.194).
