Vile fatphobic messages left on student’s phone after she rejected him on Tinder
A man has been fired after his Tinder match shared the ‘vile’ messages he allegedly bombarded her with after she spurned his advances.
Ebonie Sanderson, 26, from Sydney, Australia says she was called an ‘ugly, fat, time-wasting wh*re’ who ‘would have been one f**k’ by Tom McGuirk, 28, after she ‘politely’ declined to meet him for sex.
His boss terminated his employment ‘with immediate effect’ after she called him out on his ‘sexist and fatphobic’ behaviour online, while Tinder has deleted his profile from the app, according to Daily Mail Australia.
Another woman has since come forward claiming she was also sent ‘disgusting and horrendous’ messages by the tech worker who is accused of threatening to stalk her after she rejected him following one night together.
Tom’s alleged behaviour first came to light after Ebonie shared an audio recording on Instagram.
In the voice note, he says: ‘You’re actually a fat f**king pig. You know that? Thanks. You did waste my time. You’re f**king ugly.
‘Your a**e looks okay and you would have been one f**k. You would have been just one f**k and that would have been it because you’re a disgusting fat pig.”
‘Look, you don’t have issues if you call out someone for being a s**t person. You’re a piece of s**t, and you’re fat and you’re ugly.
‘You’re ugly on the inside and the outside and I say that to s**t people. Good people I treat well.’
He continued: ‘I turned down a chick tonight so yeah, I choose not to masturbate. I choose not to cum a lot.
‘You just called me ‘hot’ five minutes ago… I don’t struggle getting laid and I especially don’t need a four like you to get laid.’
Screenshots allegedly show Tom telling her ‘there’s a hierarchy in society’ and she must ‘know deep down’ she is ‘below’ him.
Speech pathology student Ebonie told her followers the ‘worst part’ was that she felt she had to turn Tom down gently.
She said: ‘This is what happens when you say NO or call out a man for being disrespectful!!!
‘You apparently earn yourself the right to get verbally abused and fat shamed on more than one platform.’
‘No, I didn’t “ask for it” and yes, I’m entitled to change my mind and tell someone I’m not interested anymore because I feel uncomfortable and intimidated by one’s aggressive and forceful nature.
‘The worst part about this attack, is the fact that I felt the need to be nice when turning him down, telling him he’s good looking and will find someone else for the night and then apologising for feeling uncomfortable!!!! THAT IS A BIG PROBLEM.’
The post soon went viral, with thousands of women and men rallying around Ebonie to condemn Tom’s alleged behaviour.
Soon afterwards, brewery supervisor Erin Hinds, 26 came forward claiming the same man had threatened to stalk her at work after she said she did not want to meet up with him again.
She said: ‘I said sorry, I have changed my mind. It was fun but we really don’t have chemistry. That is when he flipped the switch. He went crazy.’
‘He started calling me a w***e and a s**t then taking pictures of my friends from social media and sending them to me saying that we are all r****ds, disgusting w****s with bad dental hygiene, and s***ts only worth one f**k each.’
After blocking Tom on social media, Erin claims she was also harassed by a man named ‘Ryan’ on Tinder, who claimed to be a ‘friend’ of Tom’s.
Tom’s social media accounts on LinkedIn, Instagram and Facebook have disappeared since the posts were shared.
The CEO of his tech company has since confirmed he has been dismissed, reportedly saying he was ‘shocked and disgusted’ by the messages.
Invenco owner Dave Scott said: ‘I had a read through of the contract and validated that it was an act of serious misconduct and that he was no longer fit for employment with us.
‘There is just no place in our workplace for someone who treats women with that amount of disrespect.
‘I have four daughters aged between 10 months and nine years old… so that was one of the first things I thought about, and my blood boiled to imagine someone ever speaking to one of my little girls like that.’
A Tinder spokesperson said: We take the safety and security of our members very seriously and have a zero-tolerance policy for online harassment.
‘The profile in question was removed from Tinder after being reported.’
