But the Chinese zodiac also claims to offer a rare insight into each person’s character, matching you up with one of 12 animals depending on when you were born in the lunar calendar.

People born within the following years can be said to have been born in the year of the ‘Metal Ox’: 1925, 1937, 1949, 1961, 1973, 1985, 1997, 2009, 2021.
