Tesco launches half price toy sale and it includes Peppa Pig and Frozen
TESCO has launched a half price toy sale – and it could be a good opportunity for parents to stock up for Christmas.
The discounts include 50% off kids’ favourites such as Peppa Pig and Disney’s Frozen.
Other popular brands parents will find include Hot Wheels and In The Night Garden.
Tesco told The Sun its toy sale officially begins in shops this Wednesday, September 30, but some stores appear to have already started reducing prices.
For example, one shopper posted pictures of discounts in the toy aisle in Tesco in Crewe, Cheshire, on the Extreme Couponing and Bargains Facebook group.
Another shopper said she picked up half price toys at her Tesco in Brighouse, West Yorkshire.
How to compare prices to get the best deal
JUST because something is on offer, or is part of a sale, it doesn't mean it's always a good deal.
There are plenty of comparison websites out there that’ll check prices for you – so don’t be left paying more than you have to.
Most of them work by comparing the prices across hundreds of retailers.
Here are some that we recommend:
- Google Shopping is a tool that lets users search for and compare prices for products across the web. Simply type in keywords, or a product number, to bring up search results.
- Price Spy logs the history of how much something costs from over 3,000 different retailers, including Argos, Amazon, eBay and the supermarkets. Once you select an individual product you can quickly compare which stores have the best price and which have it in stock.
- Idealo is another website that lets you compare prices between retailers. All shoppers need to do is search for the item they need and the website will rank them from the cheapest to the most expensive one.
- CamelCamelCamel only works on goods being sold on Amazon. To use it, type in the URL of the product you want to check the price of.
Tesco has also listed sale items on its website already, although it’s unclear if stock and discounts vary online compared to in store.
The supermarket also hasn’t said how long its toy sale will last.
For online shoppers, Tesco charges £4.50 for delivery, plus an extra £4 fee if you’re spending less than £40.
Click and collect from the supermarket costs £1.50.
You can find your nearest Tesco using its online store finder tool.
Before you part ways with any cash, we’d always recommend comparing prices online to make sure you’ve found the best deal.
