EastEnders star Shaun Williamson’s secret son reveals he was always a huge fan of his actor dad
THE secret son of EastEnders star Shaun Williamson was a huge fan before learning the actor was his dad.
Gary, 34, thought Shaun was hilarious in Ricky Gervais’s comedy series Extras.
Shaun, 54, told The Sun on Sunday that he never knew he had fathered a child with a circus juggler lover until Gary tracked him down in 2013.
Shaun, who played Albert Square’s Barry Evans, then had a DNA test which proved Gary was his son.
Gary had learned the truth from his sister.
Writing in his dad’s new book, A Matter of Facts, he recalled: “My dad was in fact Shaun Williamson, an actor that I had admired for years, not from EastEnders but from the sitcom Extras.

How weird would that have been?”
Instead, the pair met in a Belfast hotel following the test. Gary added: “I stopped off at several pubs to build some Dutch courage.

“After a slightly awkward introductory chat, we relaxed and proceeded to have a blast — visiting my favourite spots in the city, playing pool and putting our favourite songs on the jukebox.”
Gary has since been welcomed by Shaun’s wife Adele and their children Sophie and Joe.
Gary said: “I have gained so much more than a father.”
