Ulster ‘A’ team named for Leinster test
The Ulster ‘A’ coaching team has named the match-day squad for the first Ulster Inter-Provincial of the new season, which will be a behind-closed-doors clash against Leinster ‘A’ at the RDS tomorrow evening (kick-off 7pm).
Hooker, Adam McBurney, will lead out an experienced Ulster side, and will be joined in the front row by Kyle McCall and Gareth Milasinovich, who will make his debut for the club since joining in the summer of 2019. David O’Connor will partner with Kieran Treadwell in the second row. Ireland U20s captain, David McCann, will start at blindside, and will be joined by Marcus Rea at openside, and Greg Jones completes the pack at Number Eight.
New Academy entrant, Ethan McIlroy, will start at full-back, and is joined on the wings by Bangor speedster and Academy team-mate, Aaron Sexton, as well as Craig Gilroy. Matt Faddes is paired up in midfield with Stewart Moore, who signed a development contract with Ulster earlier this year. David Shanahan and Bill Johnston have been named starting half-backs.
On the extended bench, Tom Stewart, Callum Reid, Ross Kane, Azur Allison and Reuben Crothers provide the forward reinforcements, and Lewis Finlay, Bruce Houston, Conor Rankin, and Hayden Hyde are the backline cover.
