To get fans in the mood for thrills and chills Netflix dropped a two-minute trailer.
Just like Hill House, The Haunting Of Bly Manor is based off horror classic, Henry James’ The Turn Of The Screw.
The plot follows a young boy named Miles (Benjamin Evan Ainsworth), who is expelled from boarding school and returns to his family home, Bly Manor.
Before long ghosts of a man and woman start appear around the manor, terrorising the governess, the housekeeper Mrs Grose, as well as Miles’ little sister, Flora.
Given that the original novella was written in 1898 there will be susbtantial updates to fit with a modern setting, but the main narrative will remain the same.
The teaser kicks off with images of Flora (Amelie Bea Smith) standing next to a pond and then playing with toys in her bedroom.
Accompanied by eerie music, she walks down a gloomy hallway in the mansions and proceeds to put a mask on someone – or perhaps a doll.
“There you are. Now let’s come up with a story,” she coos, before the shot cuts away.
The focus turns to American nanny Dani (Victoria Pedretti), who does her best to comfort the orphaned children after their parents’ death.
“I know what loss is. Your parents loved you so, so much. In a way they’ll always be here,” she assures them.
Things soon take an unsettling turn as the visibly shaken housekeeper, Mrs. Grose (T’Nia Miller), admits: “It’s going to sound strange, but I’m having somebody else’s dream… the dead.”

Next the footage cuts to flashes of various ghostly encounters, as the traumatized housekeeper warns: “The people here… they’re born here… they die here.”
The trailer concluded with a startlef Dani, who feels a pair of hands grab her waist while she goes about her chores in the kitchen.
The hands vanish and the camera pans around to show four others, including the children, seemingly preparing a meal at the kitchen table.
Suffice to say fans had plenty to say about the clip on Twitter, reacting in their thousands.

Disucssing the new season, creator Mike Flanagan told Vanity Fair: “It certainly provides a new way to tell a love story, and there are three of them that really beat at the heart of this season.
“They all have a very dark edge to them. And by the end, it’s really hard to differentiate tragedy with romance,” he continued.
“That sense of romantic longing for someone who meant so much to us—but who’s gone—really is the heart of any ghost story.”
The Haunting of Bly Manor arrives on Netflix on 9th October.
