Possible Spurs XI vs Shkendija: 27-year-old makes first appearance of the season
Tottenham can move one step closer to the group stages of the Europa League if they beat Shkendija of Macedonia in the 3rd qualifying round on Thursday.
Jose Mourinho’s side squeezed past Lokomotiv Plovdiv in the 2nd qualifying round last Thursday thanks to goals from Harry Kane and Tanguy Ndombele.
Mourinho confirmed that Dele Alli will make the trip after being left out of the 18-man squad for the last two games, whilst Japhet Tanganga was pictured in training on Wednesday and therefore could be available.
We think that the Spurs boss will make two changes to the back-four from Southampton – with Serge Aurier replacing Matt Doherty, whilst Toby Alderweireld could return to the starting XI in place of Eric Dier after missing the previous two matches.
In midfield, we believe that Harry Winks will partner Moussa Sissoko, just behind Giovani Lo Celso after his impressive cameo off the bench against the Saints.
Steve Bergwijn could be given another opportunity from the start, joining Heung Min Son and Harry Kane who were both outstanding at St Mary’s on Sunday, in the front-three – with Lucas Moura rested.
Predicted XI: Lloris, Aurier, Alderweireld, Sanchez, Davies, Winks, Sissoko, Lo Celso, Bergwijn, Son, Kane.
