PG For Giro? What Say You.
The year Gino took the Maglia Rosa and Holms won PG by being the only one to take Oreste Conti on two of the last three stages.
It's safe to say there was something more than Chris Froome missing from this years TdF and I'm not talking about Cav either. In our defence, every post I put up pre-race at the start of the Classics season was swiftly followed by the race being cancelled. There were people walking up to me in suburban Sydney supermarkets saying things like, "and we thought that Jens guy was the Jinx Master...". I couldn't risk being blamed for the Tour being cancelled. I had nightmares where Trump, sat in the Oval Office and squinting at a teleprompter, proclaimed that "Covid would just go away but that Aussie Lefty won't." How he knows I'm left-handed I'll never know.
So having got through the Tour and with a Vuelta starting before the Giro is completed, it would seem that if we're to have a GT PG this year, this is the one to do. One thing though about the game that stops a nation, is that you really need a minimum of twenty players to get the best out of it. If the numbers are there we play and if the Giro gets cancelled part way through, we can all take the blame.
