The quiz genius was instantly swamped with backlash as fans questioned his logic on flouting any rules around Covid-19.
One asked: “What’s more important, kids being back at school or pubs, restaurants and cafes being open? Because at the moment, with both, we’re going into the winter with 6,000 cases every day and the ‘R’ well above 1.”
Another said: “With the anti lockdown attitude Mark is currently displaying, it will be a bloody long time before Beast & Governess make their return to #TheChaseAus. We miss you dearly, but this wretched COVID needs to be brought under control first, sadly.”
And one more sighed: “Come on Mark. Poor from you”
They called Mark’s intelligence into question – prompting him to lash out[/caption]But other fans took a swipe at the The Chase star’s brainpower, prompting Mark to take action.
He tweeted later on Sunday: “Blocking a lot of people this afternoon. Politics is all about discussion/argument but questioning my intelligence is pretty counterproductive #SayNoToLockdown”
And one cheeky follower replied: “Remind me of your IQ….?”
