The UFC lightweight champion has revealed it was his late father’s “dream fight”.

During a press conference in Russia, the Dagestan brawler spoke about his desire to take on the Canadian MMA legend, 39.
He said: “As for GSP, this fight motivates me very much. It was the dream fight of my father.
“I really would love to fight GSP, but time goes on.”
Next up for Khabib is a fight with interim champ Gaethje.
They are due to meet at UFC 254 on October 24.
Khabib added: “If I beat Gaethje in October and we fight Georges St-Pierre before Ramadan, that would be awesome. We will see.
“Dana White told me that after my fight with Gaethje the UFC will negotiate with Georges St-Pierre.
“If Georges St-Pierre says yes, then the fight will happen. The UFC and me, we are interested.”
Fans would love to see a rematch between Khabib and McGregor after their unforgettable clash in 2018.
While it seems GSP is the favoured choice of the reigning champ, he is up for facing McGregor, but only if the Irishman first fights Dustin Poirier.

Khabib said: “Let him come back (and) defeat Dustin Poirier, then we will fight with him – no problem.”
Before any of that, McGregor must first come out of retirement.
For the moment, the UFC’s biggest draw is cruising around the South of France with his partner Dee Devlin.
