New Delhi (Sputnik): On Tuesday, a massive explosion at the port of Beirut, Lebanon's capital, left at least 135 people dead and 5,000 injured. According to preliminary information provided by the country's authorities, the blast was caused by the detonation of 2,750 tonnes of ammonium nitrate, which had been unsafely stored for years.
