PC Harper, 28, was dragged for more than a mile behind the travellers’ car after getting entangled in a tow rope.
Albert Bowers and Jessie Cole, both 18, and Henry Long, 19, who had stolen a quad bike near Reading, hugged after the verdicts.
Mrs Adlam said she was “utterly and bitterly disgusted with the outcome” of the trial which “let down” her son.
She said: “Andrew went to work to serve us all. And this is how he was repaid.”
Among others signing the petition was Suzanne Webb who wrote: “This is not justice. This is a joke.”
Peter Jones-Ward wrote: “How can deliberately dragging someone behind a vehicle not be murder?”
