Police officer ‘joined plot to steal cash being handed between crime gangs’
A POLICE officer joined a plot to steal cash being handed between crime gangs, a court heard.
PC Kashif Mahmood, 31, was allegedly at two incidents where hundreds of thousands was taken.
He was among men in stab-proof jackets who stopped gangs’ cash couriers in their vehicles, Westminster JPs heard.
Mahmood also allegedly travelled to Dubai with gang members who had links to the city.
The PC, now suspended from duty, was said to be a willing participant but he claimed he was acting under duress.

Mahmood, of Harlow, Essex, and four others are accused of conspiracy to acquire criminal property.
No pleas were entered.
They were remanded in custody to appear at the Old Bailey next month.
