Man Utd star Andreas Pereira responds perfectly to senseless Twitter abuse
Andreas Pereira has responded to two mindless Manchester United supporters who aimed criticism at his performance levels on social media.
Pereira has been given little game time since the restart last month, and took to Twitter on Monday evening to share his frustrations with the servers of popular computer game Warzone.
The Brazilian midfielder was then met with typical unsympathetic responses from some United fans/social media trolls, who preferred to share their own opinions about his ability on the pitch.
One supporter responded to Pereira’s complaint about the game servers with “Probably performing like how you do on the pitch”, to which he replied ‘”Nobody cares what you tweet.”
His reply instigated another response from a United fan who again directed criticism at his lack of quality on the pitch:“Too loud for a player that’s played in 8 different positions and served up nothing in any of them. Hope this helps.”
Pereira responded brilliantly with his own ‘hope it helps’ sign-off, which prompted some pleasant reactions from other United fans who quickly came to his defence.
Nobody is suggesting fans aren’t allowed to have a voice and social media offers the perfect platform for supporters to share their views.
But when a player is directly targeted without provoking anyone, the line is crossed and there is no room for abusing United’s players personally on the platform.
Perhaps the midfielder would have better advised to ignore the messages, but he responded in probably the best way he could.
Forlorn Pereira has struggled to establish himself this season and could well be heading for the Old Trafford exit door if Ole Gunnar Solskjaer decides to be ruthless in the summer transfer window.
But just because the maligned star may not be good enough for United’s midfield, it doesn’t mean fans have the right to attack him personally on social media.
